Energy Healing Physician
Dr. Blasband is a board-certified psychiatrist trained in medicine at the Medical School of the University of Pennsylvania and in psychiatry at the Department of Psychiatry at Yale Medical School, where I served on faculty. Currently I am the Director of Research of the Center for Functional Research in Sausalito, CA where I conduct research and practice psychotherapy and psychic healing.
Dr. Blasband’s practice is unique in that he has been trained in both psychiatric Orgone Therapy and healing.
Psychiatric orgone therapy is the approach developed by the psychoanalyst and scientist, Wilhelm Reich, M.D. Dr. Blasband’s psychic healing approach was developed by the recently deceased master-healer and theoretical physicist, Nicolai Levashov, who was his mentor in this discipline. Dr. Blasband has been practicing Orgone Therapy for almost 50 years and doing healing for about 25 years.
As is more fully described elsewhere on this site, psychiatric orgone therapy has as its goal the full and free streaming of the patient’s life energy through the organism. This is perceived by the patient as pleasurable electrical currents and energetic “streamings” coursing through the body in synchrony with the phases of respiration.
When fully developed, this therapy is accompanied by a distinct involuntary tilting of the pelvis forward and up on expiration. When this end-phase of therapy has been reached the patient experiences a new, non-neurotic way of thinking and feeling: He/she is for the first time in their adult lives free from the encumbrances of neurotic patterns and emotional blocks obtained as a means of dealing with a life-inimical childhood and sustained by a life-negative society.
The key to removing the patient’s blocks or “armoring” is in the deep analysis of his/her neurotic character, that “way” in which they adapted to interferences with their natural growth and development.
This is accomplished in one way through the therapist showing the patient “how” they look and behave. Another way is to work directly on the patterns of muscular tension, “muscular armoring” that are the somatic counterpart of the character armoring.
This is done by deep massage of the tense musculature and heightened respiration. Both methods free the movement of energy through the organism.
The Levashov Method of healing by intention is also more fully described elsewhere on this site. Important
I have worked successfully with this method in treating all kinds of physical illnesses except for cancer and severe infectious disorders. This is not because the method cannot cure the latter diseases, but because I am vulnerable to “catching” them if I open myself up to the patient as is often demanded in this healing method.
